Differentiation — IB Maths AA HL Practice

Differentiation is the backbone of AA HL calculus. Practise differentiating, finding stationary points, tangents and the nature of turning points — step by step whenever you slip.

The idea

Differentiate a power by multiplying by the power and dropping it by one: $\dfrac{d}{dx}x^{n}=nx^{n-1}$, term by term.
💡 A constant differentiates to $0$; a term $cx$ differentiates to just $c$.
