ACS(I), SJI, MGS & SOTA: Final IB Mock Strategy for Nov 2026

Singapore's November-session IB schools run their own mocks — but school mocks alone rarely give a clean external benchmark. Here is how Year 2 students at ACS(I), SJI, MGS, SOTA and beyond should structure the final months before the November 2026 exams.

Many of Singapore's strongest IB cohorts — ACS(I), MGS, SJI and SOTA, along with UWCSEA, SJI International, Tanglin, HCIS and others — sit the November session. These schools run internal mocks, but a school mock has a blind spot: it tells you how you did against your class, not against a clean external standard, and it rarely comes with the granular feedback you need to act on. This is the gap to close before November 2026.

The benchmark problem with school mocks

School mocks are valuable — they simulate exam conditions and surface obvious gaps. But three things limit them as a final benchmark:

What parents actually want to know: not "how did the class do?" but "is my child on track for a 6 or a 7, where exactly are the gaps, and what happens in the next six weeks?" A clean external benchmark answers that.

A subject-by-subject final plan

Mathematics (AA & AI, HL & SL)

Prioritise timed full papers over topic drills in the final months. For HL, protect dedicated time for Paper 3 — it is the least-practised paper and the most decisive at the top end. Use our AA HL paper analysis to target recurring topics, then sit marked Math mocks to convert revision into a score.

Physics (HL & SL)

Physics sits first in the November timetable, so its revision has to peak earlier. Focus your testing on explanation marks, units, graphs and data-booklet fluency — the skills covered in our guide to the Physics new-syllabus revision — and confirm them with marked Physics mocks.

Everything else

For subjects outside Math and Physics, the same principle holds: simulate the real paper, get marked feedback, and target the gaps. If you still have content to consolidate, combine mocks with focused crash-course revision.

Mapping the November 2026 timetable

The official IB assessment calendar drives your peak-revision timing. For November 2026, the key early dates are Physics Paper 1 on Wednesday 4 November and Paper 2 on Thursday 5 November, followed by Math Paper 1 on Monday 9 November, Paper 2 on Tuesday 10 November and HL Paper 3 on Friday 13 November. In practice, that means:

Final-months checklist

  • Get one clean external benchmark early — not just school mocks.
  • Shift from topic drills to timed full papers with marking.
  • Front-load Physics; reserve Math HL's extra days for Paper 3.
  • Act on a prioritised report, not a single mock number.

Photon's Nov 2026 Final Mock Series was built for exactly this — an external, marked benchmark for Math and Physics, open to students from any school. Whether you are at ACS(I), SJI, MGS, SOTA or elsewhere, you do not need to be enrolled in our weekly Math or Physics tuition to sit it. Start with a free diagnostic and turn the final months into a plan.

Nov 2026 Final Mock Series

Sitting the November 2026 IB exams? Get a marked mock, not just more notes.

Sit timed Photon mock papers, get them marked by a tutor, and receive a topic-by-topic score report so you know exactly what to fix. Open to non-Photon students — join the mock series only, or bundle Math + Physics.

Frequently asked questions

Which Singapore schools sit the November IB exams?

Several of Singapore's IB schools sit the November session, including ACS(Independent), MGS, SJI's IB pathway and SOTA, alongside international schools such as UWCSEA, SJI International, Tanglin and HCIS. Confirm your own school's session with its exams officer.

Are school mocks enough preparation for the IB exams?

School mocks are useful but limited: they benchmark you against your class rather than an external standard, feedback is often thin, and one or two sittings rarely build full exam fluency. An external marked mock adds a clean benchmark and a detailed score report.

Can students from any school join Photon's mock series?

Yes. The Nov 2026 Final Mock Series is open to non-Photon students from any school. You can sit Math only, Physics only, or both, without enrolling in weekly tuition.

How should Math and Physics students plan around the November 2026 dates?

Physics papers fall earlier (early November) than Math, so Physics revision should peak first. Math HL students get a few extra days before Paper 3 and should use them to simulate that paper rather than learn new content.
