WHAT IS IT

What Is the IB Crash Course?

The IB Crash Course is Photon Academy's intensive revision programme for students sitting the November 2026 IB Diploma examinations.

It runs during the May–June school holiday — the last major break before IB exams begin in October. Over this period, we cover the complete IB syllabus in your chosen subjects: key concepts, common exam question types, mark scheme conventions, and timed past paper practice.

This is not a substitute for year-long tuition. It is designed for students who want to enter the final exam stretch with every topic reviewed, every weak area identified, and their exam technique sharp.

Exact session hours, schedule, and fees are being finalised. Register your interest below and you will be among the first to receive confirmed details.

SUBJECTS AVAILABLE

IB Crash Course — Subjects Offered

The following IB subjects will be offered in the crash course. All subjects are taught at both HL and SL. Exact availability confirmed upon registration.

IB Mathematics

Streams: AA HL · AA SL · AI HL · AI SL

Crash course focus: Algebra · Functions · Calculus (AA) · Statistics & Probability (AI) · Exam technique · Past papers

The Mathematics crash course runs separately for AA and AI streams. For AA HL: calculus, proof, complex numbers, vectors — the high-difficulty topics that require the most consolidation before exams. For AI: statistical modelling, calculus applications, and the technology-based skills the exam requires. Both streams include full Paper 1, 2 (and 3 for HL) exam technique.

IB Physics

Levels: HL & SL

Crash course focus: All 5 themes (A–E) · New 2025 syllabus · Experimental design · Data-based questions · Past papers

IB Physics under the new 2025 syllabus has specific question styles students need to practise. The crash course covers all five themes, with emphasis on the most frequently examined topics, structured question technique, and the data analysis skills that consistently distinguish 6s from 7s.

IB Chemistry

Levels: HL & SL

Crash course focus: Stoichiometry · Organic chemistry · Energetics · Equilibrium · New 2025 syllabus · Past papers

Chemistry has the densest content of any IB science. The crash course prioritises stoichiometry accuracy, organic chemistry mechanisms, and the data-based question technique that the new 2025 syllabus rewards. HL students also cover the additional HL-only topics: electrochemistry, crystal structure, and advanced organic.

IB Biology

Levels: HL & SL

Crash course focus: Molecular biology · Genetics · Ecology · IA data skills · New 2025 syllabus · Past papers

Biology requires both content breadth and the ability to apply concepts in unfamiliar contexts. The crash course covers the high-difficulty molecular biology and genetics topics that IB examiners consistently test, alongside the command-term responses (state vs explain vs evaluate) that separate confident answers from vague ones.

IB Economics

Levels: HL & SL

Crash course focus: Micro & Macro · International economics · Development · Essay technique · Diagrams · Past papers

IB Economics rewards students who can draw accurate diagrams quickly and write structured evaluative essays under time pressure. The crash course covers all four units with emphasis on diagram accuracy, key definitions, and the evaluative language that earns marks in Section B and C questions. HL students cover the additional HL content in microeconomics and international.
More subjects may be added
Chinese B, English, TOK and Business Studies may be added based on demand. Register your interest and indicate your subjects — we will confirm availability.
WHY PHOTON ACADEMY

Why Choose Photon Academy for Your IB Crash Course?

Same tutors, same standards

The crash course is taught by the same IB-certified tutors who deliver regular tuition — Mr Ejaz, Ms Bea, and subject specialists. Not temporary holiday staff.

Max 4 students per group

The hard cap on group size applies to crash course sessions too. Every student gets direct attention, questions answered, and individual weak areas addressed.

Built around November 2026 exams

Every session is calibrated to what the November 2026 examinations will test. We use real past papers from the correct exam session window and the current syllabus — not generic revision materials.

Full syllabus, not cherry-picked topics

We cover everything. Students leave knowing where they stand on every topic, not just the ones that were convenient to teach.

Exam technique alongside content

Content without technique loses marks. Every crash course session includes mark-scheme practice — how IB examiners award marks and what they penalise.

95%+ of our students score 6 or 7

The same approach that drives our year-round results applies here. The crash course is an acceleration of the same method — not a shortcut.
